Men and Their Cars

I cant offer you a scientific explanation for the mysterious chemistry that there is between men and their cars because, Im a man. But there is something about getting behind the wheel of a powerful monster that brings out the boy racer in nearly very bloke I know and no, its nothing to do with the erextension theory. In my mind I think its more about control.

Lets face it, although most men wont admit it theres a not a lot that your average adult male has the better of. If they think they wear the trousers in their household, theyre mistaken. And Ill let you into a secret, most men know this. And we know that our wives know too. And we know that we are given this illusion of control, courtesy of our other halves, just to keep us happy.

Let's face it a lot has changed since the good old Stone age times when men were really men. Now, Im afraid to say, weve nothing to do. There's no competition. There's nothing to test our mettle against. In other words theres no real meaning to our existence anymore. When the dinosaurs became extinct Im afraid, so did we. No dinosaurs no real men. So its obvious isnt it?

Theres only one beast still around that we can test ourselves against and I dont mean our wives. Im talking about the combustion engine. Put it on wheels and what do you get, thats right, the motor car. A monster of our own making that we must tame, that we must control, that we can take to the limit daring it to fight back, and of course, sometimes it does. So there's your answer, an element of risk. That's what we men need in our sad little lives, an element of risk. Just like when we hunted the dinosaur club in hand. An element of risk that sometimes, just sometimes, ended with fatal consequences.

Ahthe good old days. Grrr.

Time Management

Wherever you want to achieve something, draw an action plan in a mind. This allows you to concentrate on the stages of goal, and monitor your progress towards it. Simply list the tasks that you need to carry out to achieve your goal. This is simple, but still very useful! An Action Plan is a list of things that you need to do to achieve a goal. To use it, simply carry out each task in the list!

You will be shocked to see the amount of time that you waste! It is too easy to forget time spent reading junk mail, talking to colleagues, having lunch, etc. Studing for several days helps you to understand how you spend your time, and when you perform at your best. Note down the things you do. Every time you change activities, whether working, travelling, making dinner, gossiping with colleagues or whatever, note down the time of the change. As well as recording activities, note how you feel, whether alert, flat, tired, energetic, etc. Do this periodically throughout the day.

You should be to work out how much your time costs. This helps you to understand if you are using your time profitably or not. Calculate hours of working in a year by your total yearly remuneration & benefits. This should give a reasonable estimate of how much your time is worth. You should keep in mind or decide your priorities of life.

It is important for your life that you enjoy your job. If you know your likes and dislikes, you will be more able to work with your job towards doing things that you enjoy. This will improve your job effectively if you love it. A formal approach to evaluating your strengths and weaknesses, and the opportunities and threats that you face. It makes a lot of sense to find a job that suits your strengths, and where your weaknesses do not matter. Work out yourself whether you are good at your job or not. Find out what the key targets to be achieved are, and how success will be measured. If you know what exceptional performance is, you can plan to achieve it using all the resources you have available.

To give a broad, balanced coverage of all important areas in your life, try to set goals in some or all of the following categories: 1)Artistic-Do you want to achieve any artistic goals? If so, what? 2) Attitude-Is any part of your mindset holding you back? Is there any part of the way that you behave that upsets you? If so, set goals to improve or cure the problem. 3) Career-What level do you want to reach in your career? 4) Education-Is there any knowledge you want to acquire in particular? What information and skills will you need to achieve other goals? 5) Family-Do you want to be a parent? If so, how are you going to be a good parent? How do you want to be seen by a partner or by members of your extended family? 6) Financial-How much do you want to earn by what stage? 7) Physical-Are there any athletic goals you want to achieve, or do you want good health deep into old age? What steps are you going to take to achieve this? 8) Pleasure-How do you want to enjoy yourself? - you should ensure that some of your life is for you! 9) Public Service-Do you want to make the world a better place by your existence? If so, how?

ADD - 5 Ways to Help Your ADD Child

When you're the linear-thinking parent of an ADD child, it's difficult to relate to your child's behaviors. You undoubtedly feel every pain of attention deficit, but maybe you aren't quite sure how to deal with it, especially when you child is very young. If you're an ADD parent of an ADD child, at least you can remember what being a kid with attention deficit was like, and maybe you've learned some ADD-friendly ways to cope with attention deficit that you can pass along. But then again, maybe you don't even realize that you have attention deficit yourself. Well, whatever situation you find you belong in, here are a few tips to help:

1) Make things simple: Don't send your kids into another room to get a pen, a piece of paper, and an envelope. They'll forget at least one of the three and have to go back to get what they forgot. To save frustration, send them for one thing at a time. Because they can manage to come back with that one item, when they do, they'll feel happy if you tell them what a great job they did. Rather than deflating their self-esteem, you'll be pumping it up.

2) Get a game going: Try involving the whole family in this strategy. Make sure that people get extra points for positive behaviors, and that points are deducted when someone breaks a rule or doesn't take their turn in the proper order.

3) Know your child's teacher: Be sure to get all the pertinent information about your child's classes at school. Ask for due dates of specific assignments, quizzes, and anything else that you child needs to remember.

4) Provide sanctuary: Your children suffer frustration every day, and it stems from within themselves, from their peers, and perhaps from their teachers. Allow them some downtime to unwind when they get home. Make sure that they have a room of their own or a special place they can go to be alone for a while to help them feel less stressed.

5) Make them feel successful: First, find out what your child is good at. It may take a while to decide what it is, but maybe they're artists, musicians, or good with technology. Whatever that is, support them in that area and lavish praise on them when they do something well to boost their self-esteem.

You can use these 5 tips to help make your child's life better, as well as your own. But it won't happen overnight. You'll have to be consistent in applying these techniques, and through a slow process will your child begin to improve. Some kids will be lucky enough to control the symptoms of attention deficit as they're older. Some of them turn into ADD adults. Celestial Phenomena for 2006: Equinoxes and Solstices

During the course of 2006, a number of celestial phenomena such as equinoxes, solstices, eclipses, meteor showers and planets will be visible, most with the naked eye. Depending on where you live, you can mark your calendar and plan on taking advantage of some of these visible celestial phenomena, local weather conditions permitting. In this article, part 1 of a three-part series, upcoming equinoxes and solstices in 2006 will be discussed.

Equinox

Twice each year the position of the sun as it crosses the Earths equator making day and night of equal length in all parts of the earth. These two dates are known as Vernal and Autumnal Equinox. Ancient Greek astronomer Hipparchus is credited with calculation of the data used t predict the position of celestial elements that determine the equinoxes, derived from the Latin words for equal night. Many festivals and celebrations worldwide are based on the occurrences of the equinoxes.

Vernal Equinox or spring equinox will occur on March 20, 2006 and marks the beginning of the spring season in the northern hemisphere. The Memorial Celebration of Jesus Christs Passover meal with his 12 apostles occurs after sundown on the evening of the first full moon after the Vernal equinox each year (Nissan 14).

Autumn Equinox will occur on September 22, 2006 and marks the beginning of the fall season in the northern hemisphere. The Harvest Moon is the full moon that occurs just before the autumn equinox. Harvest Moon phenomena occur in the spring south of the equator. Harvest moon phenomena include several evenings of moon risings close to the time of sunset with brilliant moonlight that can last nearly all night during cloudless conditions. The full moon after the Harvest moon is called the Hunters Moon.

In 1964, American astronomer Gerald S. Hawkins reported that the prehistoric ritual monolithic monument Stonehenge, located in England, could have been used to predict the Vernal and Autumnal equinoxes, summer and winter solstices, and eclipses of both the sun and moon during the period of around 1500 B.C. when the Stonehenge complex was believed to be in use.

Halfway between the equinoxes are the summer and winter solstices.

Solstice

Solstice is the time of the year when the noon sun appears farthest north or south in the sky. It marks the beginning of the summer or winter season in the northern hemisphere. The tropic of Cancer lies 2327 north of the equator and is the northern solstice, that is, the northernmost point where the sun appears directly overhead at least one day a year. The Arctic Circle, at latitude 6630 N, marks the southern limit of the area in which the sun does not rise on the winter solstice or set on the summer solstice. Periods of continuous day or night increase from one day at the Arctic Circle to six months at the North Pole. The Antarctic Circle, at latitude 6630 S, marks the northern limit of the area in which the sun does not rise on the summer solstice or set on the winter solstice. Periods of continuous night or day increase from one day at the Antarctic Circle to six months at the South Pole.

Midsummer Eve also known as St. Johns Eve, is celebrated throughout Europe at the time of the summer solstice. These celebrations are believed to date back to Teutonic pagan festivals and fertility rites associated with agriculture at the time of the summer solstice.

This year Summer Solstice will occur on June 21, 2006 and Winter Solstice will occur on December 21, 2006.

Be sure to mark your calendar for upcoming celestial phenomena which will possibly be visible in your area this year. Part 2 of this series will talk about upcoming full or partial solar and lunar eclipses. Part 3 will be concerned with the planets and planetary phenomena. Until then, look to the skies.

Swinger Online Dating - Using Pictures In Your Online Swinger Dating Profile

It is a rare occurrence to come across an online swinger dating profile that does not include any pictures of the actual swingers themselves. Since attraction is a major consideration for most people, they want to see the fruit before taking a bite! Here are some helpful tips for creating a great photo album for your profile:

  • The more pictures you include in your profile, the greater chance you will have of attracting more responses. Some sites will let you upload as many as 100 pictures in your photo gallery.
  • Dont be afraid that youll be recognized by someone you know. Access to your profile is only available to other paying members of the website. Besides, if a friend, relative, or neighbor does recognize you, that means they must be there for the very same reason you are!
  • If you choose to post nude pictures of yourself, make sure they are tasteful. This always leaves a better impression than just showcasing your genitals, implying that its the only thing you have to offer. If youre not sure how to pose, you can always get ideas from nude photography websites, books and magazines.
  • If you prefer to be clothed in your pictures, dress the same way you would dress if you were meeting someone in person. The easiest time to take some great pictures is right before you head out the door to go to a club or party. Youve invested the time to look your best, so why not get some extra mileage out of your efforts!
  • Many members include pictures that give them a personality, rather than being just another number. These pictures can range from the party they went to last weekend and having fun at a sporting event or concert, to enjoying hobbies like traveling.
  • If you are a couple, include pictures of both of you. You do not necessarily have to pose together. It doesnt make any sense to only show the female half of the couple if you eventually want to meet other people in person anyway.
